Students who do not have a Bachelor’s degree but have completed an associate degree or 2 – 3 year college diploma may also qualify for a Master’s degree upon completing a Master’s Qualifying programme or MQP. UniversitiesFirst.com can help you apply for a MQP at one of our partner colleges.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Students are normally required to have an Academic IELTS (or equivalent) qualification of 6.5 or higher. Some Subjects such as Law may require 7.0. For students who do have the necessary level of English yet a Conditional Offer may be obtained until the English language conditions are met.

LANGUAGE COURSES

Students who have not got the necessary English language qualifications will receive a conditional offer and can with our help enrol onto an English course at one of our partner language schools throughout the UK. Courses vary in length from 1 – 12 months and are normally either general (15hrs per week) or intensive (20+hrs per week). Special IELTS preparation courses are also available for students who already have a good level of English. Pre-Sessional English courses are language courses run by the university on campus. These courses are for students who are holding an offer and have a language qualification slightly below the required standard for admission. They vary in length from 12 – 4 weeks. Upon successful completion of the course, students are accepted onto their chosen degree.

Please contact us for more information concerning the different language courses available

FOUNDATION COURSES & PRE-MASTER’S COURSES

Some students may not automatically qualify to study a degree in the UK with their overseas qualifications. In some cases students may be required to complete a foundation course. These courses are typically one academic year in length and are subject specific. Some universities offer foundation courses on campus or students can choose to study a foundation course at one of our international college partners with guaranteed progression to a wide variety of universities.

For postgraduate students sometimes a Pre-Master’s course is advisable. This is a preparation course that has elements of English Language, Study Skills and some subject specific matter. Again these courses can be studied on university campuses or at one of our partner colleges around the UK. Pre-Master’s courses are typically between 3 and 6 months in length.

PHD & DOCTORATE COURSES
